Extensive lists of documents can be automated, converted, stamped, printed or electronically distributed, which means a customized fit for organizational processes. How this could be done we will explain in this five-part series in our blog. (part 1 of 5)

As digitalization has increased, PLM systems have begun to dominate departments in industrial environments more and more each day.  This increasingly not only applies to R&D and design departments, but has also been expanded to include a rather holistic PLM approach related to manufacturing, procurement, maintenance, quality assurance and documentation throughout the entire corporation.

Many business processes are based on the processing and creation of documents that have been customized for a specific purpose. PLM systems act as a centralized knowledge data base, thereby using an automated process to manage information and to bring it into whatever form might be currently required.

SEAL Systems offers an integrated software module that prepares system data in such a way that they can be processed by all other applications within the environment. Both the generation and the distribution of the target documents can be supported in this manner.  The following examples illustrate the capabilities:

  • All drawings and instructions for a specific production order are collected and printed as one job.
  • The approval process is automatically documented in an understandable and verifiable manner.
  • Information related to tenders and order documentation is compiled, formatted and sent.
  • Comprehensive, well-structured manuals are produced from individual documents.
  • Maintenance orders are generated, including complete drawing sets and instructions.
  • In order to facilitate archival requirements, file formats are either converted or neutral formats are used.

By using the “Document Output Center for Teamcenter” (DOC4TC), SEAL Systems offers companies an integrated product that enables files, documents and metadata that have already been managed in Teamcenter to be included in an extended range of business processes.  The comprehensive set of options offered by SEAL Systems in this field also make the interface between the PLM system and server-based post-processing activities intuitive for Teamcenter users.
