Thank you, 2017 was a great year!
As the year draws to a close, and everyone rushes to put the finishing touches on the last of the projects, we would like to take a moment and share how much we appreciate our customers, staff and partners and what they bring to our world.
The past year has been one of the most active and interesting in recent memory. SEAL has engaged in work with over 300 new and existing projects from our customers. From creating new ways to procure and view 3D data on the SAP and various PLM platforms, to working with digital applications in mobility, through complexities in compliance requirements for EAR, DFARS, FAA, FDA and more, this truly has been a wild ride. Thank you!
Please consider the availability of the SEAL Systems support during the turn of the year. Between 27.12.2017 including 7.1.2018 some SEAL Systems employees are on Christmas holiday. Nevertheless there will be a technical contact person on the working days (not on Christmas Eve and New Years Eve) for important questions. If you consider to make larger adaptions on your software or hardware systems please inform your SEAL Systems technical contact person before.
Paperless production means that companies move toward the goal of eliminating all paper from their processes and convert to an all-digital environment. This means using a system to keep track of the things you would normally store in a filing cabinet or folder, like vendor information, documentation, user manuals, time sheets, work orders, reports... the list goes on and on.
People’s perception of what constitutes the paperless shop floor may vary from individual to individual and indeed from company to company, but if you are looking to get all the benefits from going ‘paperless’ it needs to be much more than displaying documents that were formerly printed and held on the shop floor.
At the end of 2016 we reported about our project for the migration of our solutions to S/4HANA. In the meantime, most of these planned projects have been completed and the initial installations with customers are productive so that today we can inform you about the current status. In doing so, we will be looking at the adaptation of SEAL System solutions for S/4HANA, certification of this solution through SAP and our initial experience from customer projects.
SEAL Systems’ Document Distribution Director (DDD) is a solution for compiling print and distribution orders for SAP DMS, SAP PLM and Folders Management. With it, document and form files can be searched and packaged from various environments and contexts. DDD can be intergrated into many SAP transactions and processes. Output is carried out as printing or electronic distribution over SEAL System’s output management systems or SAP Spool. All jobs are furnished with additional information and receiver data are filed in the system, and can be managed, edited and reissued at a later date.
Regulatory compliance is a complex, ever changing challenge for companies. It is a target that can shift and change on a daily, sometimes, hourly bases. In today’s Global market, missing the target can mean penalties, loss of import rights and even a kind of public shaming that can reduce the confidence of shareholders along with the market value of a company. Getting compliance right is important. It matters. Missing or inaccurate information, signatures, watermarks, metadata and a lack of traceability can slow down the delivery and acceptance of products as well as the receipt of payment.
Andreas Horndasch (48), project manager for SEAL Systems, saw the fulfillment of a very special dream this November: he ran in the New York Marathon! In this blog entry, he tells us all about this incredible experience.
The newest release of our output management engine is PLOSSYS 4.5.3., with many new functions and features which we’ll discuss in detail below. PLOSSYS 4.5.3. is the continuation of a tradition established in previous releases: even more secure, more robust, more efficient. It’s available immediately in new installations and updates.
Successful implementation of the European directive eIDAS - AOK Lower Saxony is the first insurance institution in Germany to introduce electronic seals pursuant to the EU ordinance eIDAS. The implementation of the associated software was carried out by the German software companies SEAL Systems and intarsys.
SEAL Systems is officially certified on the S/4HANA platform. We have already worked with a number of customers to upgrade to this platform in 2017.
In order to support customers with the transition to S/4HANA “On Premise”, we test current SEAL Systems add-ons on S/4HANA and adjust them where necessary. These tests have shown that in many cases the solutions work unchanged in S/4HANA. Small adjustments were necessary in some places, as interfaces and field lengths have changed. We have developed a S/4HANA connector to help make this transition as seamless as possible for our customers, both new and current.
