In order to meet the requirements of long-term archiving, document formats are needed that cannot be changed and can be interpreted in a secure manner even after many years. This is where neutral long-term archiving formats such as PDF, PDF/A and TIFF/G4 come into play. These formats are open, standardized and cannot be changed. In practice, they are also referred to as digital paper.

Via the application converters, the creation of digital paper for long-term archiving can be automated to a large extent. The conversion processes can be used both in original load routines for digital drawing archives and in document management systems.
