The SEAL Print Client is an order client for interactive printing processes. At the same time, the Print Client offers interesting new possibilities for tool integration and process automation.
Many companies still rely on individual ERP and CRM systems. Usually, only their own ERP systems can map their unique and historical processes and working methods. These systems are usually programmed for host computers such as an AS/400 from IBM. Alternatively, eServers, iSeries, System i5 or Unix are also used, but Linux or Windows systems are starting to be used more. Despite the aging architecture and application environment, these enterprise resource planning systems meet the high demands on business processes. Nevertheless, they are overwhelmed with the output, distribution and design of the documents.
Standard SAP output functionality lacks the ability to track documents and format SAP forms. However, these issues can easily be remedied by implementing SEAL Systems’ Output Management.
With PLOSSYS® netdome, SEAL Systems offers a robust and powerful Corporate Output Management Engine. In over 35 years, SEAL Systems' PLOSSYS engine has been trusted by more than 1,500 customers worldwide. PLOSSYS 5, our newest product from the PLOSSYS series, is especially designed for cloud operation in architecture and technology, without sacrificing the possibilities of on-premise installation. Both operating modes can even be combined in the future.
In addition to the administration and management of printers via our software solution easyPRIMA, the linking of technical and commercial data via fleet management is a decisive controlling instrument. Therefore, SEAL Systems has developed an additional software solution that links technical data like printer name, serial number, IP address, and counter readings with the relevant commercial data (e.g., leasing period, warranty, date of purchase, owner, cost center and all associated receipts). This additional solution creates a uniform view of the global printer fleet and makes it manufacturer-independent and neutral.
Which IT service does not know the problem of historically grown printer names in its own IT landscape? In the past, printers were simply created at will without paying attention to any particular system. Since different IT employees at different locations create and manage printers, a proliferation of printer names is usually unavoidable. Together with our customers, we are developing a concept for the naming convention, which we present to you in more detail in this blog post.
Output Management pertains to the formatting, management and distribution of data, and an output management solution ensures that print and electronic documents are distributed and provisioned securely and efficiently. Companies that have an output management system can also integrate all application formats, forms, printer languages, drivers and operating systems. Read our blog to learn more.
With PLOSSYS 5, SEAL Systems develops the next generation of its output management system. Although it is of course still possible to install PLOSSYS 5 locally, i.e. on premises, the system has been designed from the beginning for operation in the cloud. Instead of a monolithic system, PLOSSYS 5 runs in the cloud as a cluster of microservices that can be started or stopped depending on the current load. The system therefore only uses as many resources as are actually needed. In this blog post, we present what this process looks like in practice - and how flexible your output management system could be in the future.
Every four to five years, many companies face a printer tender to review expiring leases and achieve cost savings. This includes MANN+HUMMEL, filter manufacturer from Ludwigsburg in Germany. In the following article, you can read about the challenges the company faced in the course of its printer consolidation, how it succeeded in eliminating its dependence on printer manufacturers, and how valuable an SAP form analysis can be in such a process.
