Review: Gartner® IT Symposium/Xpo™ 2024

In this Article
For the first time, SEAL Systems participated in the prestigious Gartner IT Symposium/Xpo™ 2024, which took place from November 4–7 in Barcelona, Spain. This high-profile event is a unique opportunity for CIOs and IT managers to get to know our innovative solutions for Enterprise Output Management.

    Our team

Five SEAL Systems employees took part in this event, which brings together CIOs and IT managers in search of innovations and technology trends. For us and our employees, this is the right place to find the best solutions for our customers’ requirements. SEAL Systems AG and SEAL Systems France were there to answer visitors’ questions.

Our session on site: “Output Management, well-harboured in the Cloud?”

Our CTO, Thomas Wiesenbacher, presented the eagerly awaited session on output management and security in the cloud entitled “Output Management, well-harbored in the Cloud?” in an original way. The presentation highlights in an entertaining but informative way the risks associated with migrating insecure and unadapted output management solutions to the cloud. You can find the PDF of the presentation on our event page.

    Our contacts and exchanges

The SEAL Systems teams had the opportunity to meet IT managers from Germany, France, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Belgium, Portugal, the Nordic countries, the Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Morocco… The exchange was exciting and enriching. We were able to present exciting topics to the representatives of companies, international organizations or national authorities.

Output management: a strategic challenge for CIOs

Our conversations around managing print and distribution workflows have revealed major concerns. CIOs, faced with increasingly complex IT environments, are looking for solutions that can simplify and centralize their processes. One question often arises: How can we optimize our print workflows while reducing inefficiencies and the associated costs?

Technological compatibility is also a key issue. Companies, which are often equipped with heterogeneous systems such as SAP, Microsoft or other business-critical platforms, require seamlessly integrated solutions. These need to adapt to hybrid infrastructures with a mixture of cloud and on-premise systems and at the same time master the challenges of branch offices and international organizations.

    Security and compliance: unavoidable priorities
Another recurring problem is the handling of sensitive documents. IT managers ask the question: how can I ensure the confidentiality and security of data throughout the printing and distribution process? In the face of strict regulations such as the GDPR, it is imperative to control access to devices and processes according to employees’ roles, while ensuring proper traceability for audits and controls.

Migration to the cloud also raises concerns. CIOs want to know how data will be handled in these environments, especially in terms of security, compliance and reliability.

    Transparency and performance: high expectations
Another important requirement is real-time insight into printing and delivery processes. CIOs are looking for tools that allow them to monitor, analyze and streamline these processes, especially to avoid unnecessary printing and optimize resource utilization. The ability to handle large volumes of printing without impacting performance is also critical, as is proactively managing outages or interruptions.

Large, often multinational companies want scalable solutions that meet their specific requirements, be it the management of multiple languages, internationally distributed locations or interoperability with different printer pools and document formats.

On the road to digital transformation and cost reduction
Finally, CIOs are striving to harmonize their print processes with their digital transformation strategy. They are asking questions about reducing paper consumption and optimizing digital workflows as well as integrating modern distribution channels such as portals, emails or electronic archiving.

The expectations are clear: what concrete benefits can we achieve in the short term? Decision-makers are looking for tangible evidence of the added value of a solution, be it in the form of cost savings, efficiency gains or rapid implementation without disrupting existing processes.

The answer from SEAL Systems: A “secure, flexible and reliable” platform!
