Challenge 1: Supporting Documents

How do I ensure the correct information is linked to the order?

When compiling an SAP plant maintenance order, it is important for the correct supporting information to be linked. This is because if supporting documents are linked, it can save everyone time and expenses later.

Solution from SEAL Systems for Challenge 1

In SAP, supplementary information is linked with master data (materials, parts lists, functional location, equipment, and production resources). SEAL Systems utilizes this feature so that all supporting information is automatically found and included.

Challenge 2: Different Filing Locations

Is it possible to connect files with objects and processes?

SAP plant maintenance orders have multiple ways to connect files with objects and processes. And, as you can imagine, these different filing locations and management systems can be overwhelming when putting together an order.

Solution from SEAL Systems for Challenge 2

SEAL Systems knows that SAP has many ways to connect files with objects and processes – and we support them all: SAP DMS, Generic Object Services (GOS), ArchiveLink, and Folders Management.

Also, SEAL Systems can connect to third-party management systems like SharePoint, OpenText, Teamcenter, file systems, and many more.

Challenge 3: Compliance

Are government and industry compliance guidelines being met?

There are many guidelines for best practices, safety precautions, and regulatory mandates. These guidelines and regulations are important because they can drive how a company defines and executes its processes for every aspect.

Whether your business’ industry deals with HR, military equipment, equipment operation/monitoring, federal regulation, etc. – odds are that your company has compliance standards for SAP plant maintenance orders that must be adhered to. But, staying compliant can take a large amount of time to do correctly.

Solution from SEAL Systems for Challenge 3

With SEAL Systems, compliance is guaranteed. Our applications document the distribution. And, in SAP, you can see what was delivered when – and to whom. SEAL Systems can also provide a timestamp to documents. This helps make the management of documents easier for the employee at their location.

Challenge 4: Distribution

Should I use print or digital?

In the past, the distribution of SAP plant maintenance orders was done one way – by print. Now, the distribution of orders can be done in two ways:

  • Print: Order can be printed as a complete batch
  • Electronic: Order can be distributed as a PDF via email, web portal, etc.

Solution from SEAL Systems for Challenge 4

For SEAL Systems, determining between print and electronic distribution is not a problem – because we can do both!

With our application, information distribution is made easier with an included cover sheet and a trailer sheet. This enhancement aids in easy pick-up from the printer because even if there are multiple documents printed to the same printer, an employee only needs to look for the cover and trailer sheet to ensure that all their papers are together.

For electronic distribution, our standard is a PDF delivered via email or web portal. Electronic distribution also provides additional benefits because a technician does not have to worry about picking up the plant maintenance order or losing any papers. It is readily available on their tablet.
