Extensive lists of documents can be automated, converted, stamped, printed or electronically distributed, which means a customized fit for organizational processes. How this could be done we will explain in this five-part series in our blog.

Part 4 of 5: Output channels – printing and electronic distribution

Output processes often need some form of support — either as an alternative or in addition to file conversion.  Sometimes that can mean running simple print jobs for TIFF and PDF files that go through the Windows print function.  But the process also needs to be able to handle complex jobs, as well as the management of large-format printers and large-volume printing centers. For this kind of print and distribution functionality there are standard interfaces for SEAL Systems’ PLOSSYS netdome output management solutions.  This includes services for block processing, document guidance and print tracking

Device management and print job administration are part and parcel of the services offered, just like multi-channel output.  That means that large and small format printers can be accessed in the same manner as the electronic transmittal process: print-to-file, email dispatch, issuing CDs and distribution through a web portal, FTP servers or Share Point.  All of this happens without any additional user intervention, regardless of whether it is a question of individual documents or for entire lists of document.

Our “Document Distribution Platform (DP4TC)” is an integrated solution that was specifically created to support those distribution processes that manage the bulk, automated transfer of document jobs in a clear, repeatable and understandable manner.  In Teamcenter, output jobs, including a list of their contents, are immediately collated and prepared for distribution.

This helps increase the efficiency and the reliability of the work done with suppliers, development and manufacturing partners, government authorities or even between a company’s own locations.
