Transfer to the SAP DMS

Once documents have been scanned and TIFF or PDF files are created, they can then be automatically checked into the SAP DMS using the DMS Loader . If required, barcoding can be applied to the document during the check-in process.

Make scanned documents retrievable

1. Scan the original document
2. Create a PDF file of the document
3. Using the DMS Loader,,,  DMS XSA , check the PDF file into SAP DMS
4. Using the DMS XSA , check out the PDF document
5. The document can now be retrieved using OCR technology (such as ASCII character      set recognition) and search engine software.

Rotation of drawings with header recognition

Within the archived file, different scanning methods and processes create drawings in various orientations.  As a result of these inconsistencies, automatic folding is not possible.

Documents are identified and checked-out with DMS XSA and, after the optical character recognition (OCR) process, checked-in with DMS Loader.

Alternatively, there is the possibility of a preliminary step for the output management systems PLOSSYS netdome, which rotates the drawing into a standard position before output. With OCR, the file is read to determine the orientation of the drawing and, if required, the software rotates the drawing into the ideal position.
