SAP Document Distribution
DDC and DDD in a new version

Document Distribution Director is the standardized solution from SEAL Systems for the generation, administration and distribution of document lists with SAP PLM and SAP DMS. DDC stands for Document Distribution Client and is the slim Pop-up version of DDD.

In 2011 a new version was released. A total of 309 tickets were considered in the new release 1.0.1. These included bug fixes, operating optimizations and new functions.

Below we have highlighted the most important upgrades from A to Z:

ArchiveLink Documents
With an additional menu function, the ArchiveLink document search can be integrated.

Attributes
The pre-sets and visibility of attributes can be configured with parameters.

Output Channels 

Additional output channels are supported:

  • "OutputView“ available through Web portal printer
  • Output through export queue
  • Local export

Substitution Systems
The configuration of substitution systems are evaluated.

Rights Management
Two separate users with administrator and end user rights are delivered.

cenitCONNECT – Integration
cenitCONNECT is an application from the company Cenit. cenitConnect allows the simple and fast generation of Workflows for the imaging of business processes. DDC can be integrated into cenitCONNECT with two methods:

  • Interactive – DDC is integrated as a menu item of cenitCONNECT
  • Background – the distribution through DDC is performed during the workflow within cenitCONNECT.

Document Distribution Connector
The start of DDC can be defined in relation to the workstation application or in relation to document types.

Delta Processing
With combined output through the module Structure Explosion. Delta printing and delta marking is also supported.

Bill of Material
Through additional menu functions, bill of material lists can be completely enhanced and distributed.

Easy DMS
The integration fo SEAL DDC in Easy DMS is supported.

Recipients
For recipient type "free text“ - a help list of values can be defined.

Forms
With combined output through the module "Structure Explosion,“ SAP documents that are not in the archive but they are in connection with message control are supported.

Integration into object search through classes
The integration of SEAL DDC in the object search with classes is supported by using the transaction cl30n.

List as local file
The display of the lists and lists of favorites can be directly stored as a local file. The display of the list of objects can be stored as a local file through a print preview.

Deletion of jobs
With the program /seal/out_cr_job_delete output jobs can be deleted in batch mode.

Menu functions
Adding of additional menu functions is possible.

Migration
The following reports are available for migration of DMS Repro GUI to SEAL DDD:

  • Migration of DMS Repro GUI configuration
  • Migration of DMS Repro GUI jobs
  • Migration of the most important DMS Repro GUI userexits

Objects

  • URL is supported as GOS object type.
  • Object type "SIG“ for signature pages is supported.

Original file

  • Dependent from job and document type, you can define which original files (workstation applications) should be displayed.
  • For each workstation application you can define the symbol, which is displayed in the object view.

PLM7 Integration
The Web Dynpro environment SEAL DDC/Web is available for SAP PLM 7. The PLM 7 integration can have several contexts:

  • Single documents
  • Object lists
  • Object structures (eg. bill of material, change number)

These objects are supported in the actual version – more will be available soon:

  • View document – single document
  • View material – documents for material
  • View bill of material – documents for bill of material
  • View change number – documents for change number
  • Document browser: document list
  • Object Navigator: document list
  • PLM Object search: document list, single material, bill of material and change numbr

Records Management – output of records
The output of record structures including of a pre-dialog for document selection is supported.

Signature page
The generation of a signature page is spported. A signature page is an extra sheet added to the output. It contains additional release informations.

Sorting 
In addition to the detailed view, the columns can be sorted in ascending or descending order, in the list view or in the list of favorites.

Statistical data
The function /seal/out_cr_stats_dat can be used with data retrieval in order to calculate the sum and the number of certain objects.

Structure dissolving
For output through the module structure explosion and maintenance order a structured document view is available.

Userexit
The interface for Userexits is released.

WebDynpro Technology 
In addition, the user interface of DDC was implemented on the basis of WebDynpro/ABAP. This interface can be integrated in other web-based contexts (EnterprisePortal, cFolders).


SEAL Systems product manager Klaus Kühnl: "In this version a lot of user feedback was considered so we can continue to improve usability. With the WebDynpro technology the integration into new SAP environments became easier. This insures simpe integrations if they want to change to PLM 7.“
