SEAL Systems has solutions for the conversion of many file and application formats. The technical basis responsible for these processes is the SEAL Systems Digital Process Technology® (DPF). For the DPF, there is a new web service interface available.
The web service enables job ordering independent from any operating system. Conversion processes can now be started and used from any application, from any location and from any operating system environment. This enables the integration of DPF4Convert in several types of IT environments. The web services of the DPF are programmed according to the service oriented architecture (SOA). All interfaces of the web services are completely described through WSDL.
Features
All web services work in a synchronized manner. Therefore, no additional external job management is necessary.
The files needed for conversion are collected and transferred to the DPF. The file transfer is done by web service (SOAP with attachments) or URL up and down loads.
Application examples
- Conversion services for Microsoft Sharepoint
- Conversion processes for DMS and ECM solutions from many suppliers
- Application design according to SOA standards
- PDF generation from PLM systems
Benefits
The web services cover the essential requirements for file conversion. The ordering of jobs and the pre-configured DPF processes for file conversion can be integrated flexibly and platform independently in all applications. The integration in the applications requires no specific programming skills or program language.
Web services enable a location independent remote access through the standardized http protocol and usually allows working over firewall limits.
By keeping the WS-I Basic Profile 1.1 maximum compatibility is provided.
