SEAL Systems is the leading supplier of solutions for conversion and distribution of documents from DMS, PLM and ERP systems. Now within customer projects, the integration of these services into PTC´s solution "PDM-Link" has been revised and standardized.
Conversion with DPF Technology
The bundling of PDM-Link and SEAL Systems´ conversion engine, DPF4Convert has been acheived through network transfer: in the clearance process documents are submitted to the DPF4Convert, which converts them into PDF, TIFF, JT or PDF/A and uploads them back to PDM-Link.
The conversion process is controlled with a job ticket in XML format, which can contain conversion parameters and meta data for indexing. As an option, visibile stamps containing clearance information can be created and applied using further PDM data. DPF4Convert is a universal conversion server from SEAL System that is able to handle all file and application formats. The conversion process can be monitored in detail using DPF Tracker.
Print Job Assignment via Web Client
Document distribution is done in printed form or electronically through the Document Output Management solution PLOSSYS from SEAL Systems. This system is controls all large and small format printers or the launching of a digital distribution as File, eMail, Web or CD. PDM-Link and PLOSSYS can be connected using the NWC Webclient. Search result lists and job parameters can being submitted to the NWC as URLs. Users can then edit these lists and define more output parameters.
Account Manager Dr. Uwe Waechter: "This integration for PDM-Link is again using SEAL Systems standard components. For our conversion engine, DPF4Convert, a series of PLM standard interfaces exists for SAP and Teamcenter. For the new solution we decided to use XML parameters, creating an up-to-date and flexible interface. The web based document distribution on the other hand is more like a classic solution for the creation and handling of print and distribution lists. The NWC has proven itself in many installations.“
