As in the years before, SEAL Systems will not be sending christmas cards and presents to customers and partners. Instead, we will donate this money to a charitable institution.
We received numerous proposals from our employees – thank you for that!
We decided to donate to the project "Lernclub Mönauschule" (Learning Club) of the special trust "Kinderarmut" (Children Poverty) of the Bürgerstiftung (Citizen Foundation) Erlangen this year.
The Mönau school is a basic primary school in the problem district Büchenbach in Erlangen (near Nuremberg, Germany). It comprehends of a 1st and 2nd grade full-day class.
For the pupils who cannot visit the full-day classes and for the pupils of the 3rd and 4th grade, the Lernclub is offering a voluntary free of charge support for doing homework or preparation of tests from Monday to Friday.
Two teachers are caring around 15–20 children there every day and are being financed by the special trust "Kinderarmut". A third teacher would be preferable because more and more parents are asking to register their children in the Lernclub. New educational material is necessary, too.
The children enjoy attending the Lernclub, their marks are gradually getting better and this is pushing their self esteem. In the 4th grade, the focus of the Lernclub is on preparing the children for the transfer to higher schools, to increase their chances – especially of children with a migration background and of children whose parents are not able to help them with homeworks and test preparation.
